‘IF HE STARTED IT, HE WILL FINISH IT!’
“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ’ (Philippians 1:6).
The first verse of the 1636 hymn written by the Lutheran Pastor Martin Rinkart partly says: “Now thank we all our God with heart and hands and voices; who wondrous things has done, in whom his world rejoices…”
This song is fitting for all of us who believe that God is the One who has started and has brought us this far this year unscathed, and the One who will finish and perfect what He started. Thanks and praise to His name.
As we embark on the journey of this second half of the year today, our faith in God should not faint, our hope should not turn to despair that things will go better and end better and best for us this year by His grace.
Hear another in the list of many blessed assurances we have in God’s unfailing word: “The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands” (Psalms 138:8). God will not only finish that which He has started in you and in me this year, but He will complete and perfect them. Beloved, know this, what God has perfected need not be added to, and need not be deleted from!
I declare prophetically to you, to myself and to our loved ones that in this month of perfection through to the end of the year, our joy will be perfected, our blessings will be perfected, our hope of a glorious end will not be shattered, all evil expectations, evil wishful thoughts of our adversaries and detractors will perish. At the end of the year, with joy unspeakable, we will gladly, jubilantly sing the song, ‘Now thank we all our God with heart and hands and voices…’ May it so be for all of us in the name the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit. Amen and Amen.
Happy new month to you all and yours. God bless you. SHALOM.
