Topic: More than conquerors we are over demons, principalities and powers in the name of Jesus.
Texts: Phil. 2:9-11; Eph. 6:12.
EXPOSITION:
Principalities and powers that we read about in the Bible, are fallen angels, operating in a greater level of authority than demons.
Paul writes concerning them in Eph. 6:12 saying, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age. Against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places.” Their mission, like that of the devil is to steal, kill, destroy. The mayhem they usually cause is better imagined than experienced! The blood of Jesus shall continually be our cover against them; we are more than conquerors over them in the name of Jesus. Amen.
The description and mission of principalities and powers indeed sound scare, but as believers we should be reminded that whatever power and authority they have, are nothing compared to the power which God, the Almighty vested in Jesus. We read about this in Phil. 2:9-11 – “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name, which is above every name, that at the mention of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus is Lord to the glory of God the Father”.
It is by this power that Jesus disarmed principalities and powers, making public spectacle of them. triumphing over them overwhelmingly (Col, 2:15).
Principalities and powers as they are known, are FALLEN angels; by the power in the name of Jesus, they shall remain fallen to the ground; they will not be able to rise again to trouble us because we bear the mark of the blood of Jesus in our bodies (Gal.6:17). So shall it be for us permanently in the name of Jesus. Amen and amen.
