Topic: “Greater is He that is in us…” Lord, manifest Yourself as such in our lives.
Texts: 1 John 4:4; 2 Kings 6:16.
EXPOSITION:
Our Lord Jesus was aware, and He is still aware of the fear we face concerning the evil forces that contend against us; He is aware of the tribulation, persecution and hardship, the harassment and embarrassment that we sometimes have to face just because we identify with Him. But be it known that He is not just aware of these negativities, but has concern, and solution for them. Good radiance this is!
To confirm this, hear as He, Jesus said in John 16:33 to the disciples then and by extension to us His followers now, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” Corroborating this, it is written also “You are of God, little children, and you have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4).
That God is always with His own, that the hosts of heaven that are with us are more in number, in power and might is validated by the incidence in 2 Kings 6:8ff. It happened that the King of Syria sent horses and chariots, and great army to go and arrest Elisha the man of God. Elisha’s servant was terrified by what he saw, he ran to Elisha, and said, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” But Elisha allayed the his fear, saying, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them”. Elisha prayed to God and God gave him overwhelming victory over his enemies, buttressing the scripture in Isaiah 59:19 where it says: When the enemy shall come like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.”
Dear friend, by this prayer and fasting program, the fire of faith in us will be reignited to believe it’s true indeed that the heavenly hosts that are with us are more than the adversaries that are against us thereby confirming that ‘ONE WITH GOD IS A MAJORITY’.
May our eyes of faith be newly opened to the manifest presence of God and the hosts of heaven that are with us all times. May we always be winners and overcomers in the name of Jesus. God bless you. SHALOM.
