Day 3 of 2024 40 Days P&F/Lenten Program.

Topic: Appreciation to God for His many blessings and benefits.

Text: Psalms 103: 1-5, 105:1-4.

EXPOSITION:

Today’s topic is designed to appreciate God further for His sundry and untold benefits and blessings. Like the song writer, Johnson Oatman writes in that popular Hymn – “Count your blessings…”, anyone who is able to count his/her blessings and benefits, name them one by one, will be astonished and amazed at God’s benevolence and generosity towards us all.

David highlights some of these benefits in Psalm 103:1-5 which are: the benefit of iniquity forgiveness and pardon, benefit of healing and deliverance from sicknesses and diseases that could have either led to us to the grave or make us to be alive as if we are not, benefits of save-guarding us from dangers and perils that could have led to our demise, benefits of us being crowns with loving kindness, minding and caring for us even when we least deserve this.

Let’s hear as this uncommon loving-kindness is presented in Psalm 8 – “What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honour. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet…” Concluding in the last verse of this Psalm, the writer says, “O LORD, our God how excellent is Your name in all the earth!”

As we would continue in appreciating God without ceasing, His excellency will manifest more in our lives, in our families and in this church in the name of Jesus. Amen.

God bless you. SHALOM.
