Topic: Power from above, come upon us as we embark on this holy journey.

EXPOSITION:
The power we need, which we are beseeching God to release upon us in a time such as this spiritual prayer and Lenten season, is not physical but spiritual; it’s that divine empowerment that will strengthen and sustain us through this long journey. “Not by might nor by power, but by my spirit says the LORD Almighty” so it is written in Zechariah 4:6.
Jesus was led into the wilderness in the power of the Holy Spirit and He fasted 40 days and nights, tempted by Satan but prevailed against him because He was enveloped in the Holy Spirit empowerment (Matt. 4:1-11). In this order, we also need power from above during and after this exercise not only for sustenance to a successful and happy ending, but to be able to resist and overcome satanic temptations that are very likely to come during and after this journey.
Be it known that it is in such a time as this that Satan would want to take undue advantage of many who loose up on this power. We are forewarned about this in 2 Cor. 2:11, “Let Satan take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.” Beloved, let’s be on our guard!
The power we would receive from about today will cure us of ignorance and deliver us from satanic devices; this power will imbue us with wisdom from above (James 3:17), to be wiser than the devil, the power will cause us not to fall into his temptation pitfalls in the name of Jesus.
